7.75 (good) | I think the series is good. However, the over-indulgence in the comedy dragged my rating down. I could easily rate this as 8 or so actually, since I'm a fujoshi and the potential shounen-ai and pairings in this one is quite high. Currently, I like Munakata and the Red King couple the best. Before I segway into my fantasy world, I should also say that their 'Kings' concept is highly intriguing of course, not to say that the characters aren't quirky (in a nice way) themselves.

6.75 (above average) | Hmm, I think the chronology of events in the manga is better than the anime's. Also, the series offers little deviation to the generic girl meets guy (and yes, we start to harbor feelings, etc) scenario but it will still give you light laughs at every corner. If I had to compare it to another recent-ish anime that I've watched, it would be to InuxBoku, where both servants (sorry for the lack of a better term) are outrageously loyal to their respective masters. (7 at most, but generally somewhere around 6.5 to 6.75)

8.50 (very good) | The first episode gets you totally captivated. I've seen 3 episodes so far, but the series already has me hooked. The pace can go from exciting to really passive. Still, it's a good series as far as I'm concerned. What I like about it as a whole is the concept of being able to read into a person's psych just by holding him in gun-point. At first, it seems like a totally flawless system but when you see that the people who are supposed to implement it struggle, you also begin to question the system as a whole. Also, the enforcers are pretty interesting in their own rights, especially Kougami and Kagari, since they're the first ones to get a bit of their pasts exposed. |
